| The undercover video released by the humane organization Compassion Over Killing, showed workers treating animals inhumanely. The animal advocacy group states the person who filmed the video worked at the plant during June and July. Ambulatory cows were repeatedly stunned to make them walk to slaughter, cows were stunned over and over again in the slaughter box, and some cows were still alive and writhing in agony as they were suspended by one back leg along the slaughter line before their necks were slashed.
It is illegal to allow cows that cannot walk to be slaughtered for human consumption. It is also illegal to make an animal suffer during the slaughter process.
